That <in order> to write one must have a storehouse of singing things in one’s mind, a storehouse of singing things. A. S. Byatt
Bring your schools Literacy programme alive for your students through the Arts. I am available to come into your school and facilitate professional development that will engage your teachers and inspire them to integrate the Arts with Literacy. My workshops are hands on so teachers can experience for themselves the potency of Drama and Visual Art to extend and enrich the teaching of Literacy for children. By going through the creative process themselves step by step teachers will come away with tools and exercises that they can incorporate immediately into their classroom planning. By incorporating the Arts in meaningful ways into the Literacy programme students will deepen their literacy skills in all areas – reading, writing and oral language. This is a workshop that aims to reenergise teachers to teach Literacy with real passion by being fun and playful whilst also being practical. By the end of the workshop it is my hope that all will leave with a “storehouse of singing things”!
Creativity is like freedom: once you taste it, you cannot live without it. It is a transformative force, enhancing self-esteem and self-empowerment. (Rogers, N)
