We have to teach kids to become aware of language. To be aware of the beauty and the poetry and the mystery and magic of language that’s all around us. To help them see that some things work and some things don’t, some things are ridiculous and some things are beautiful and moving, some things are clever and effective, some things are ugly and clumsy. (John Marsden)
What better way to teach children the power of language than through story telling. Bringing to life stunning books by amazing authors, I’m able to do just that! With years of experience reading books to children combined with my drama background I am able to invoke the feeling of another time and place where reality is suspended and magic can happen. With a trained expressive voice, dramatic props, a vibrant performance and stories chosen that grab children’s imagination I am able to create a theatrical experience of story book reading. There are opportunities for children to actively participate with me in bringing stories to life. Choose a theme, genre, author category or let me surprise you and enjoy a professional story telling session, one that may well inspire teachers in regard to their own reading as well as being a memorable experience for your students.

Angie,
Thank you so much for the two days you spent at our school. According to a number of children you are
the best story reader EVER!
The kids absolutely loved the whole experience and many commented that they had never heard
stories read with such energy and enthusiasm. We wanted to let you know what a success your sessions were.
There was such variety for all the age groups. I don’t know how you managed
to make each session sound like it was your first. On behalf of the committee, thank you so much. If you are still working as a storyteller
in 2013, we’ll be sure to give you a call. Thanks from
